Recognizing a Pet Emergency:
Knowing when to seek emergency veterinary care is crucial. If your pet exhibits any of the following signs, seek immediate veterinary attention:
Difficulty breathing or choking: Rapid, labored breathing, gasping, or blue gums.
Severe bleeding: Uncontrolled bleeding from any part of the body.
Trauma: Hit by a car, falls from heights, or other significant injuries.
Collapse or loss of consciousness: Sudden weakness, inability to stand, or unresponsiveness.
Seizures: Uncontrolled shaking or tremors.
Bloat (GDV): Distended abdomen, unproductive retching, and restlessness (especially in large breed dogs).
Poisoning or ingestion of toxins: Ingestion of medications, household chemicals, or toxic plants.
Difficulty urinating or defecating: Straining, crying, or inability to eliminate.
Severe vomiting or diarrhea: Persistent vomiting or bloody diarrhea.
